IntAPol

The project IntAPol will focus on the upscaling of a polychaete culture. This culture will be integrated into a successfully operating closed recirculating seawater system.

Polychaetes possess the potential of efficiently use the solid nutrients released by higher organisms within the culture systems, such as fish, for their own metabolism. Due to their fast growth and high stocking densities polychaetes seem to be a convenient addition to conventional recirculating systems.

The purpose of the project will be the investigation of the amino acid composition of the polychaetes under the cultured conditions as well as the fate of the nutrients within the culture system.
