The building includes a fully equipped laboratory. It can be used to control concentrations of dissolved nutrients (nitrogen- and phosphate compounds) in water, to prepare sample materials or culture medium. Analyses can be done immediately on-site. More laboratories with additional equipment are located at the IMARE GmbH.

A scientific workshop is also available inside the building which is equipped with tools for mechanical work. It can be used to control and maintain the equipment and systems.
